Why this exists

Hong Kong is dense with people making things and thin on places to make them in public. That's not a shortage of talent — it's a shortage of rooms.

01 Almost all of it happens alone. At home, on a laptop, at night. The work gets done and nobody ever sees it — so nobody knows how much of it there is.
02 The places that exist want money or a pitch. Co-working costs. Networking events want a deck. Neither is somewhere to simply do the work next to someone else doing theirs.
03 So the scene stays invisible to itself. People assume nothing is happening here, and act accordingly — they build quietly, or they build somewhere else.
04 Building in public is a habit, and habits need a room. A fixed time, a fixed format, a demo at the end. Do that weekly and a culture accumulates — publicly, on the record, where the next person can find it.

The record

Every session is a volume, and every volume is published — who was in the room and what they built. One volume in. This is the beginning of the record, not a summary of it.

Our first scoop. The venue moved on us the day before and everyone rolled with it — nine guests, four hosts, three hours.

Two people turned up independently building the same kind of focus app, and met over a shared problem three hours into a Sunday. That's the entire argument for the format, and it happened in week one.
